Alexander Marvin Bergman was born in New Orleans in 1985. The child of New York soul singer Brenda Bergman, creative influence steeped into his core.
They moved up to the Bronx in the dead of winter, and Alex became addicted to moving images. From age eight he knew he would be a director. He dropped out of high school, bought a camera with his college moneys, and at age 19 was working as a cinematographer shooting 16mm in West Africa.
He shot his first feature at 21. Since then he's racked up an Emmy nomination for cinematography, and directed scores of music videos and commercials.
Alex lives in LA now and continues working as a DP, Director, and Writer.
